CSK sign Urvil Patel as a replacement for injured Vansh Bedi

In a mid-season squad change, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced the signing of wicketkeeper-batter Urvil Patel as a replacement for the injured Vansh Bedi. The decision comes as CSK looks to strengthen their bench depth heading into the crucial phase of the IPL 2025 season.

Vansh Bedi, a young and promising cricketer, has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury sustained during a practice session. While the exact nature of the injury hasn’t been officially disclosed, team sources confirm that he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Urvil Patel, who represents Gujarat in domestic cricket, brings both experience and explosive batting to the table. Known for his aggressive style and reliable glovework behind the stumps, Patel has been part of various domestic T20 tournaments and has shown flashes of brilliance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

“We’re glad to have Urvil joining the CSK family,” said a team spokesperson. “His domestic experience and readiness to step in at any moment make him a valuable asset for the remainder of the season.”

With CSK currently in the playoff race, Patel’s addition could prove timely, especially as the team seeks more flexibility in their lineup.

CSK fans will be hoping that the change boosts the squad’s performance as they look to secure another IPL title under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad.
